Eric Gustafson

Eric founded the firm in 2010 and has over twenty years experience in senior executive recruitment for private and public multinational organizations, nonprofits, USA subsidiaries of Asian and European companies, and the operating holdings of private equity firms.  The firm has been named a Forbes America's Best Executive Search Firm in 2018 and 2019. 


Eric recruits in technology, industrial, consumer markets, and adjacent others.  Clients are advantaged by his multiple function and industry expertise to recruit superior talent across peer functions and optimal industries.  He recruits Presidents and General Managers, their direct reporting C-level functional heads, and key subordinates at the Director and Senior Director level.  

CAREER BACKGROUND |  Executive Search and Industry

Prior to founding Access Point Partners, Eric was EVP of a senior search and M&A advisory firm.  He was a pre and post-IPO Senior Partner/Practice Leader in the New York City office of Korn/Ferry International where he was a Consumer, Industrial, and Technology Practice Leader whose clients were advantaged by his hands-on model without involvement of junior recruiters.  He began in Human Resources with Ashland Inc. and was CEO of a private company in PC and IT solutions.


Eric has been a member of the Japanese-American Chamber of Commerce & Industry of New York, the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce, and serves on the Advisory Board of B.R.A.V.E., a unique nonprofit team that advises military veterans on career goals.  He and his family have been supporters and volunteer officers in A Better Chance, the non profit educating disadvantaged city youth, and they support various other charities.

Born in France on a USAF base, he has lived and worked in the northeast, southeast, and midwest regions of the United States and is a graduate of Lafayette College where he played Division 1 basketball.  He and his wife have two daughters.

LEAN & PROCESS:  Eric Gustafson, the Firm, and Lean

Eric co-managed the initial Kaizen of Executive Search at Danaher Inc., the corporation from which the Danaher Business System would become a template for other corporations' installation of Lean business process systems.   Invited by Danaher's CHRO, he co-managed a week long session with HR and operating executives to refine internal processes to include efficient relationships with outside search firms.
